The latest news

 August, 2025.

Giant Scale Twins is currently in production of  four kits  in NW Iowa (KSHL).  I can take orders year round, but I farm during the summer months, and only produce kits in the winter when the snow is flying!  To place your order or if you have any questions about our kits, call my cell at 712-230-3023 or send me an email at info@giantscaletwins.com .  I do not take orders on the website, so you'll have to contact me directly.

If you already have a kit made by Giant Scale Twins (Or Modaire as it was previously known) and need replacement parts, I'd be happy to make them for you.

I am also in production of composite parts for the AeroCommander's sister ship, the Ted Smith 1/4 scale Aerostar.   The model was designed by Stan Burak with  wood build-up construction.  Plans and pre-cut parts are available from Laser Design Services.  I can supply composite gear doors, nacelles,  nose cones and windscreens.  Please click on the Aerostar tab at the top of the page, or contact me if you would like more information.

Now for the bad news...

I'm sure you've heard Robart MFG is no longer manufacturing giant scale retracts.  Bummer.  Fortunately,  Larry at www.highvizrc.com has purchased the engineering rights to make the Robart retracts under his new company name of High Viz RC.  I have not spoken with Larry, but I'm sure he is busy getting production up and running.  All of my kits are built primarily using the Robart retracts, so I am grateful to Larry for taking this on!  I do still have some Robart retracts in stock and am taking orders.  I am also working with Darrell at Sierra Giant Scale (www.sierragiant.com) to develop replacements for the Robart if customers desire a more detailed and scale gearset.  He already has an amazing set of gear that fit the F7 Tigercat, though I have not yet had time to develop mounts for those.  I'll keep you posted on the retract situation as information becomes available.

If you've purchased a kit and would like to share it, please feel free to send me pictures or YouTube video links and I'll add it to my website!

Thanks,

Jim
